Who Qualifies For The Bursary Or University Student Loan From NSFAS?



The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has officially opened the 2025 application process.

Applications are now open and can shut on fifteen December 2024.

*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding

To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant must satisfy the following criteria:

• Be a South African citizen or copyright who arises from a house using a combined gross domestic income that doesn't exceed R350 000 for every annum.

• Persons with disabilities qualify if their combined family earnings will not exceed R600 000 per annum.

• SASSA recipients automatically qualify for funding and want not post any proof of income.

*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle

The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open to all South African citizens and permanent people from households with combined R350 000 and R600 000 for each annum.

Applicants are reminded to offer the correct Id Doc numbers, names, and surname, as reflected in their South African ID.

NSFAS only funds individuals who are studying or plan to study at a general public university or TVET college in South Africa.

All students who wish to study in any of the public universities and TVET colleges should apply timeously and not to wait until the last day.

Learners do not have to wait read more for matric results to apply for NSFAS. They should apply now and avoid delays in the processing of their application.
